2008 Street Program
This year is the first time in three years that there will be a street program in the Village of Somonauk. At the March regular board meeting the Village board voted to allocate $135,000.00 out of the Motor Fuel Fund to be spent on road repair.
Some of the major areas are: East St. from Rt. 34 North to Dale St., Green St. North to Pine St., Sycamore St. South from Rt. 34 to DeKalb St. The Village Parking lot will be paved and striped as will as LaSalle St. will be striped. There area several other miscellaneous areas being done.
There are 15 miles of roads to maintain repair and plow. The Village has limited funds and will look at improvements yearly. If you have questions or concerns call Street & Alleys Chariman Rich McMillen, 815-498-2181.
